Société VIA is opening its doors to the public on June 1 and 3, offering citizens an immersive and educational experience.
The event, called “BacStage”, will give visitors privileged access behind the scenes of the recycling sorting center.
During these days, visitors will have the chance to go through the whole process of sorting the material, from its arrival in bulk, to its baling for shipment. “We firmly believe that there’s nothing better than visiting our facilities in person to learn about the issues involved in sorting and recycling our materials,” says Jacob Bouchard, Head of Internal Communications at Société VIA.
In addition to this unique tour, participants will have the opportunity to take part in an informative and dynamic outdoor component. Their partners, COECO and COOP FA, will be on hand to raise visitors’ awareness of what they can do at home to become recycling pros. And Bac Coach Grégory Pratte will be on hand to answer questions from the public.
BacStage” is an unrivalled opportunity for members of the community to go behind the scenes of the sorting center’s operations, gain a better understanding of the residual materials recycling process, and take part in promoting a more sustainable environment. “We hope to attract a large number of people to our open house so that we can share our passion for recycling and reducing our ecological footprint,” says Mr. Bouchard.
For this first edition, we’ll be opening the doors of our Lévis and Rivière-du-Loup sorting centers on June 1 and 3 respectively.
