Socio-professional integration

Since the beginnings of its activities, Société VIA’s social mission has been to create quality employment that is suitable for people with functional limitations and that facilitates their integration and training. That is the reason why we have a team of special education teachers that is responsible for training our employees while supervising and facilitating their integration in their workplace and community.

Société VIA is involved in business organizations related to social economy, like the Conseil québécois des entreprises adaptées (CQEA) and the Table régionale d’économie sociale de Chaudière-Appalaches (TRESCA).

Continuing education in social integration

For two years now, our team has been working in partnership with the Commission scolaire des Navigateurs to offer a specialized training in social integration to our employees. This training allows them to develop skills that are useful in their everyday lives through various activities, like the realization of a monthly multimedia journal, cooking workshops and community gardening!

For a circular economy and sustainable development

Someone’s residuals can become someone else’s resources! Our activities contribute directly to the recycling of more than a hundred thousand tonnes of residual materials each year. In our economic partners, we count about 175 municipalities and RCMs, Recyc-Québec, private enterprises in the collection industry and about twenty Quebec-based enterprises that buy and recycle our materials. They are an essential element of the stability of our activities.

The economy related to recycling materials management is tangible and allows our community to act efficiently – and collectively – to ensure a healthy and sustainable environment for the future.

Improving environmental education and raising awareness

Young people and teachers have already demonstrated that their actions have a major impact in this context of great societal changes. Their leadership in the recycling sector in the recent years clearly proves it. Société VIA strongly believes that young people will be ambassadors when it comes to the promotion of new eco-friendly practices in the fight against climate change.

 Coop FA

As its main partner, Société VIA supports the innovative project of the Coopérative Forêt d’Arden, which is focused on climate change Scol’ERE scholarship, in partnership with the Fonds d’action québécois pour le développement durable (FAQDD) and its economic partner, the Government of Quebec. Our young leaders become the very first greenhouse gases investigators in the world!
